The old Necromancer bade Alhazrad to be silent as he chanted an invocation to the Unspeakable Lord of Hali. The two wizards sat in an ancient graveyard on the outskirts of India, protected by a magic circle drawn in their own blood. Alhazrad stole a glance at the necromancer’s scrolls. Written in the magical tongue of lost Hyperborea, the scrolls contained secrets of life, death, and the undead.
The necromancer lit the wick of a stinking candle and sprinkled the essential salts over it. Then he spoke, “Now neophyte, watch as …

Prynn had traveled to the temple of Yezyud for one purpose, to read the true Al-Azif of Abdul Alhazrad, called the Necronomicon by some mystics. The priests of Yezyud had guarded Abdul Alhazrad’s book for generations and it would be difficult to gain their favor. Only a scholar who humbled himself and gave proper sacrifice would be allowed to pass the great iron door to view the dreaded tome. Prynn was prepared to do both. He allowed the priests to cast his four acolytes into the sacrificial pit and loudly …

Abdul Alhazrad cursed the luck that led him to this fate; he would die in a stinking tent listening to the nerve wracking cry of a baby in yet another tent. Alhazrad had been traveling alone, his camel laden with plunder he had found in various long forgotten tombs. He proved a tempting target for bandits. They had ambushed him as he crossed a dune and sank an arrow into his left side just below the ribs. He cut his treasure pack loose and flogged his camel like a madman, …

For a time Cthulhu and the Great Old Ones will be freed from their tombs and ravage the herd of mankind. In their fear and madness the remnants of humanity will call upon their Elder Gods to save them, but those gods are weak and fearful and they will not leave Kadath to face Great Cthulhu.
Instead the crypts under the Monastery of Tsan-Chan will give birth to the Avatar of Nyarlathotep. He shall inhabit a body sewn from age old corpses and cover himself with yellow robes to hide …

The Khian Rites were a set of formulae designed to grant immortality
originally practiced by the sorcerers of lost Lemuria. Using certain
magical techiques they sent their astral forms outside the bounds of our
dimension to that realm wherein Yog-Sothoth and the Old Ones who are his
larvae dwell. They would bring back the essence of these Old Ones to taint
their physical forms, giving them great vitality and arresting the aging
process. In time their bodies would begin to manifest certain attributes
of the Old Ones and these traits being horrible to the eyes of men …
